Everything MirchiColor does

Seven tools, one companion — in Hindi and English.

What families are saying

Real words from parents and professionals using MirchiColor.

MirchiColor is a valuable resource for autism families in India. As a Special Educator, I appreciate its thoughtful design rooted in the Indian context, addressing real-life challenges such as navigating joint families, schools, and support systems with compassion and practical guidance. Its neuroaffirming approach stands out — respecting autistic individuals, celebrating strengths, and offering realistic, empowering tools for parents. I commend Geetu Ahuja Sharma for creating a platform grounded in lived experience, expertise, and empathy.

Mirchi color name itself is so funky and cool and the reason behind the name is really cute. I loved the app especially the decode and the journal part. Another one is where you can explain to your family members what is actually happening inside an ASD brain when they feel it's being ziddi or stubborn.

Thank you Geetu, for your kindness, effort and empathy — the app is just what every parent needs.

Highly appreciate your time and efforts in building this. I tried it. It gave me wonderful insights on my son's current behaviour issue.

NandaParent

India's autism caregiver app — for understanding behaviour, building routines, and explaining autism to family. In Hindi and English.

Built for Indian autism families

Most autism resources are built for Western families, in English, without any understanding of what it means to raise an autistic child in India — explaining it to a joint family, navigating local schools, understanding government schemes like UDID and the RTE Act, or simply finding the right words in Hindi. MirchiColor exists to close that gap.

Built by lived experience

Created by an autism parent and RCI Certified Special Educator with 17 years of experience — not a corporation guessing what families need.

Made for Indian families

Hindi and English. Indian context — dadi, joint families, government schemes, local schools. Built for the families global apps forget.

Neuroaffirming, always

We never use deficit language about your child. Every tool holds both the hard moments and the genuine gifts your child carries.

Practical, not preachy

Real tools for real moments — schedules, cards, and steps you can use today. No jargon, no lectures.

Our Story

Why the name “MirchiColor”?

A hand-drawn puddle with ripples spiralling out like jalebis, a single red chilli at its edge

One evening, my son pointed at something red and called it “mirchi colour.” Raindrops falling into puddles, spreading into ripples — those were “jalebi.”

The reports called it a language delay.

I heard original poetry.

That evening gave this app its name — and its promise: we will never see only what’s missing. We will always see the whole child.

Seventeen years as an autism parent. Plastic chairs outside therapy rooms, asking the question every one of us knows: what did I do wrong?

A hand-drawn empty corridor chair with warm window light falling on it

Feeling alone in my own family, my own neighbourhood. Watching my child be denied his right to simply be in a classroom — once, he came home beaten.

But I was not entirely alone. A few senior parents, years ahead on this road, took my hand and said, “we know.” A few professionals chose to understand my child instead of labeling him. They taught me what the right support feels like — and I owe them more than I can say.

So I trained as a special educator. And I built MirchiColor — the companion I needed on those corridor chairs. Because the answer to “what did I do wrong?” is:

Nothing. You did nothing wrong. You just needed someone to decode with you.
